The Bungalows of Key Largo (a hidden gem)!
Updated: Jan 18, 2022

An all-inclusive/ adults only resort right here in America, just an hour outside of Miami and located on the first Key of Florida, Key Largo! As soon as you arrive to the Bungalows, you will instantly feel like you walked into Paradise.
The "all-inclusive" begins as soon as you arrive, receiving both your room key and a cocktail before they take you on a tour of the resort.

As soon as we walked into our private Bungalow, we instantly knew we made the right decision to honeymoon here. Not only was our bed covered in rose petals shaped into a heart, we also had a plate full of chocolate covered strawberries! Each bungalow comes with a private backyard that features a couch, table and chairs, a huge garden tub and an outdoor shower.

Fun fact, I took every single shower outside, because why not?! We spent 6 nights and 7 days here. The days are long and wonderful. The sun rises early and sets late.

The sunsets alone are worth a trip to the Keys. We took advantage one night and enjoyed a sunset cruise on the "The Lady B", the Bungalows Catamaran. It was quite extraordinary, the water was only about 6ft deep and you could see straight to the bottom. The captain made sure we all had a drink and some hors d'oeuvres and we sailed off to see a breathtaking sunset.

Speaking of hors d'oeuvres, it should be noted that while you sunbathe, rather it be in a private cabana or a chair by the pool, the staff walk around throughout the daytime carrying trays of the most delicious food! They will also take your drink and lunch orders and will personally deliver straight to you.
The food is phenomenal! Seriously,
everything was "the best I ever had". From breakfast to lunch to dinner and everything in between. The Bungalows does not disappoint. They have something for everybody! If you aren't a big seafood eater they have plenty of other choices so don't feel discouraged. My personal favorite dishes were the 'Margarita Pizza' (I had one every single day. Yes, I ate 6 pizzas total on my honeymoon and I have no regrets). And a chicken dish from Fish Tales: 'Pan roasted Airline Chicken with Vegetable Medley' (Golden Chicken Demi: half a chicken baked to perfection topped with a demi-glace served with a side of vegetables). Definitely add the mashed potatoes, it totally completes the meal.
We did everything The Bungalows had to offer, from sunbathing to karaoke, to snorkeling, to making friends with not only the guests but the staff, too. Hi Steve! My hubby and I really enjoyed the secluded 'Zen Pool' with your own private cabana, where the curtains close all around you. Talk about relaxing and romantic! And don't worry about drinks or food, staff will come around to take your orders! We also took advantage of the day spa. Getting a couple's massage bayside in a tiki hut, talk about ZEN! We could hear the waves crashing and the seagulls chirping. After our massage we relaxed in the steam room then finished our day in the eucalyptus room. The spa is a treat all in itself. The massage therapists were friendly and did a wonderful job helping us relax. However, we did spend the majority of our time sunbathing by the water, in the water, and getting drinks and eating every other hour at the tiki bar.

The Bungalows definitely caters to people who are celebrating milestones, rather that be a couple on their honeymoon or celebrating an anniversary, or a big group of friends having a birthday party. This resort is perfect if you are looking for an upscale, romantic, relaxing place where time seems to move slow and everyone is on "island time".
